How to make a ranking grid
- Pick a size. Top 9 is the classic: nine numbered cells, first place in the top left corner. Top 16 and Top 25 give a bigger subject room. Whichever you start with, the grid size control can take the board anywhere from 2x2 up, and the numbers renumber themselves as the grid grows.
- Fill the cells in rank order. Tap a cell and give it an image, a name, or both. Cell 1 is your number one; work down from there. A cell can also hold a freehand drawing if the thing you are ranking is easier to draw than to find a picture of.
- Or leave it blank on purpose. The empty numbered board is the "fill this chart" format. Give it a title like "My top 9 albums of all time", export it as it is, and let other people fill their own copies in. Publishing it here gives you a link anyone can remix.
- Download and post. Export a PNG, JPEG or PDF of the finished board. The published render drops the editor controls and draws a tight numbered grid, dark numbers on the corner of each cell, ready for a feed or a story.

What is a ranking grid?
A square grid whose cells are numbered 1 to N in reading order, top left to bottom right. Cell 1 is first place. You fill each cell with one image or one name, so the finished picture is a strict ranked list that reads like a chart instead of a list of text.
How do I make a top 9 grid?

Can I change the size after I start?
Yes. The grid size control resizes the board at any time, and the cell numbers recompute for the new shape. Content already placed in cells stays where it is.
Do the numbers show up in the export?

Is this the same as a tier list?
No. A tier list groups items into bands like S and A, where everything in a band is equal. A ranking grid is a strict order: exactly one thing per numbered slot, no ties. If you want bands instead, the tier list maker on this site does that.
Do I need an account?
